We use the word ‘hope’ quite a lot. Much of the time, hope lacks a sense of certainty. Yet hope is incredibly important to us. And a great way to understand that is to consider how life looks when there is no hope. It’s that kind of despair - lack of hope - that sits in the historical background to the Christmas story. But "when the time was right, God sent His Son".
