Discovering Godspace begins our 2017 focus on outreach. You will have seen many forms of outreach over the years. At the heart of them all is the question: Why? What difference does it make being a Christian? If someone should respond to our message, then what exactly is the different thing we are offering them? Today we look at the story of the Welsh Revival as an example of the difference God makes, not just in individuals or churches, but in an entire country. We hope youll find this both an inspiration and a challenge!

Nehemiah has succeeded in building the wall. Yet the success is overshadowed by further opposition, and the celebration that should have happened in chapter 6 turns into a registration in chapter 7. As Pastor Steve takes a closer look at todays passage, he suggests that what its really about is vulnerability. Nehemiah was potentially vulnerable in three ways. As he goes through them, think about your own areas of vulnerability.

Having dealt with external threats from Sanballat and Tobiah, Nehemiah’s vision is again under threat - this time from within. Jewish nobles and officials are increasing their wealth by charging poorer Jews interest on money loaned to pay the King’s tax. Nehemiah tackles this head on.
