Traction is the youth of Mt Albert Baptist Church getting a grip on life and faith as teenagers in the 21st Century.
Youth today face bewildering choices, baffling challenges in a world of blindsiding change. Jesus taught us, "Narrow is the road that leads to life", so to keep traction on that road we need to have the right equipment.
Cross treads! We're cruising the highway with the rest of Mt Albert Baptist Church as we share and participate in the Sunday services. Worship is meant to be both nurturing time and a celebration of what God has done for us. As the church of the future we're trying out new things, shaping both ourselves and things to come!
Snow tyres! There are a lot of slippery issues to face day by day and it's important to talk them through. The opportunity to be yourself, ask questions, express your faith in a place where everyones' contribution counts is priceless. We get to do this Wednesday nights 7 - 9pm in the youthzone and have some laughs too!
Race slicks! The youth are racing ahead in faith. Being on track means maximum grip on truth, the gospel and discipleship. High performance requires everyone to be put together for compatibility with the best-targeted input. Small group teaching @ 6:00pm Sundays is tight, relevant, responsive with age specific groups and set leaders who really care and give to those in their group.
Offroads! Social activities are about going where we want to go. Social Squad is chosen by the youth to coordinate heaps of fun activities chosen by the youth themselves - so there's always something new coming up. Its about good times, forming and growing friendships, bringing new people along and maximising life.
