A few years ago we started talking about what building facilities Mt Albert Baptist Church needs in order to grow with both our church community, and wider community.

We developed a vision for community-focused church grounds called The Hub, and engaged an architect firm - Brewer Davidson.

You can see from the architect’s impression that the completed build will re-establish the church on its cornerstone site.

The Hub building project has two stages. Renovations to the jubilee hall, gravity room, chapel and staff offices (in the wooden building) has begun. Then early next year, building work to extend the main auditorium is due to begin. The auditorium extension will include a café-style space, and include a children’s play area.

Our vision is to create relational spaces for us to connect better with our community through our programmes such as Mainly Music and English Classes.

We appreciate the many groups that use our church buildings during the week, and we’ll work hard to provide alternative meeting places in our church grounds while the building work is happening.
