Jonathan Dove

Jonathan joined MABC in July 2006 and has responsibility for much of the preaching and the overall leadership. Both he, and his wife Robyn, grew up, met and married in Hawkes Bay. They completed their training for Christian ministry at Adelaide College of Ministries, South Australia and Dallas Theological Seminary, Texas, USA. Jonathan's passion is to see people take steps forward in their spiritual growth and vitally connect in the community of faith. As part of his involvement in the wider community, he convenes the Mt Albert Baptist Churches (Ecumenical) group. Jonathan and Robyn welcomed their daughter into the world in January 07 and are enjoying the role they have as parents.

Judy Ashman
Care and Connections Pastor

Judy is married to Nick and has three sons. She joined our Pastoral team in June 2007 having recently completed studies at Carey Baptist College. Judy is responsible for oversight of our care and support ministries, our ministry enabling newcomers to learn about and connect to our Church, and helping facilitate opportunities in which our church family can connect (forming life-changing relationships) and serve. Judy also has responsibilities in small group ministry and women's ministry.

Rob Markley

Rob Markley is married to Melissa and has three children aged 6, 10 and 12. They came to MABC in 2003. Rob began leading our Gravity intermediate children's ministry shortly after and also started the board games group as an outreach and fellowship time. Rob came on staff in June 2007 to look after children and youth ministries right through from creche to the start of tertiary education. He is also part of the team developing men's ministry at MABC. Rob is studying part time towards a degree in Applied Theology at Carey Baptist College. He wants MABC to be a church with well-organized and exciting programs across childhood to youth but also where many people get involved in shaping what we do and grow themselves through the ministry experience.

Wendy Kattenbeld-Arons
Children's Ministry Pastor

Wendy is married to Jos and has three children - Fleur(7), Martinique(5) and Claire(3). She was born in New Zealand while her parents studied at Bible College of New Zealand before returning to Holland to minister there. Wendy has been involved in various roles in communications, marketing and public relations in both Christian and commercial organisations while living in Holland. Since returning to New Zealand in 2005, she has served on school Board of Trustees, and most recently, as Children's Ministry Leader at Avondale Baptist. As Associate Pastor: Children's Ministry, Wendy will be part of our pastoral team and serve in a team leader role with specific focus and responsibility towards applying our four arrows (Upward, Inward, Withward and Outward) to our ministry to children.

Rebecca(Becky) Duncan
Young Adults Student Pastor

Becky is training to be a pastor and whilst leading the new Young Adults ministry and organising the Sunday night services, she also studies at BCNZ. Her husband Kyle is involved in the music team and together they lead a young adults small group. Becky is a qualified lawyer with a degree in history and is passionate about bringing God's glory to bear on issues of justice, politics and community and developing our young adults to be people of influence and integrity.

Darren Ayling

Darren is married to Lou and they have a beautiful daughter, Karis. Darren is an intern at MABC from Carey Baptist College where he is studying for an applied theology degree and a diploma in Pastoral Leadership. Darren does some of the preaching at MABC and is also working on community projects. Darren and Lou are passionate about walking alongside people who are trying to match faith with the good and the bad that happens in life.

Linda Edwards
Personal Assistant(PA) to Lead Pastor

Linda assists Jonathan (Lead Pastor) with various management tasks, overseeing the scheduling of church programs, and will co-ordinate the development of the Church magazine and update the church website. Linda works Tuesday to Thursday from the church office.

Carolyn Welch
Church Office Manager

Carolyn is the team leader responsible for co-ordinating the team of volunteers in the church office, compiling the weekly church newsletter and overseeting daily office tasks. The office team serve the church ministry leaders freeing them of administrative tasks so they can do the work of the ministry.
