Jonathan is married to Robyn and has three children: Arwen (3), Chase (1) and their late son, Toby Jack (T.J.) Jonathan and Robyn completed their training for Christian ministry at Adelaide College of Ministries, Australia and Dallas Theological Seminary, Texas, USA.  Jonathan’s passion is to see people take steps forward in their spiritual growth and vitally connect in the community of faith. As Lead Pastor, Jonathan is responsible for the preaching, leadership development, and overall leadership. As part of his involvement in the wider community, he convenes the Mt Albert Baptist Churches (Ecumenical) group.

Arthur Warner

Arthur joined MAB in June 2009 and has responsibility for strategic planning, operations management, staff supervision, community projects and the long-anticipated building project. He is happily married to Dorrie who is the LifeGroup Ministry Leader. They have three children aged 24, 21 and 18 who are each very involved in their own churches. Arthur’s background is high school teaching (specialising in multimedia), national youth leadership, church leadership and at present Arthur is also a director of a video production company that he started in 2003 and is presently being run by his oldest son together with another director. Arthur is passionate about helping the church to achieve it’s seven dreams as determined by the Lead Pastor and Elders.

Judy Ashman

Care and Connections Pastor

Judy is married to Nick and has three sons. She joined our Pastoral team in June 2007 having recently completed studies at Carey Baptist College. Judy is responsible for oversight of our care and support ministries, our ministry enabling newcomers to learn about and connect to our Church, and helping facilitate opportunities in which our church family can connect (forming life-changing relationships) and serve. Judy also has responsibilities in small group ministry and women’s ministry.

Wendy Kattenbeld-Arons

Children's Ministry Pastor

Wendy is married to Jos and has three children – Fleur (9), Martinique (7) and Claire (5). She was born in New Zealand while her parents studied at Bible College of New Zealand before returning to Holland to minister there. Wendy has been involved in various roles in communications, marketing and public relations in both Christian and commercial organisations while living in Holland. Since returning to New Zealand in 2005, she has served on school Board of Trustees, and most recently, as Children’s Ministry Leader at Avondale Baptist. As our Children’s Pastor, Wendy is part of our pastoral team and serve in a team leader role with specific focus and responsibility towards applying our four arrows (Upward, Inward, Withward and Outward) to our ministry to children. Wendy is involved in Mainly Music on Monday morning, often helping out at the Toy Library on Tuesday morning, visits Kids Forever Preschool on Fridays and reads from the Bible to the children and sings with them them. On Sunday she makes sure that a team of people take care of the children from 0-10 years old. They all have their own programmes. Jeff Orr

Youth and Young Adults Pastor

Jeff is married to (Canadian born) Heather and has one daughter Emily (21 months) and another baby on the way in May. Jeff has a Masters degree from Regent College in Vancouver (Canada) and has also completed his Bachelor of Theology through Sydney College of Divinity. Jeff is passionate about the local church and seeing the whole body of Christ fulfill its mission and calling! Jeff is starting at MAB January 2010 as Associate Pastor with responsibilities for Youth/Young Adults, Community Research and Development, School Makeover Project Manager and will help on the Preaching Team.

Linda provides support to our Lead Pastor so that he can focus on the overall leadership, teaching, and pastoral responsibilities of the church.

Ian Laird

Ian is in charge of the property, opening and closing, security. He doesn’t live on the property, but you will frequently see him around the place. He will also help with bookings of the buildings (including usage for weddings & funerals).

Patricia Sampaio

Office Manager

Patricia is married to Gus and they have been blessed with two wonderful sons: Lucas (12) and Daniel (6). She has a Bachelor in Business Administration and a Masters degree in Services Marketing, which is quite handy for her role at the office. Her job is to assist in the organisational aspects of the church by providing leadership to the office, administrative support to our staff team and ministry leaders, leadership to a team of volunteers and weekly communication of church events.
