Steve heads MABC’s staff team and is involved in teaching, vision setting and leadership. As well as doing many of the sermons in our services, he’s occasionally roped in to play the piano. That’s because he was a professional concert pianist before he changed careers. Steve and his wife Jo came to MABC three years ago after leading Petone Baptist Church in Wellington. They made the big move north with their three daughters Madeleine, Amelia and Alice.
Jess is MABC’s Youth Pastor, and leads Traction Youth Group looking after the church’s teenagers and young adults. An accomplished musician (with a music degree under her belt), Jess has a wealth of experience in leading youth to a deeper engagement with God and a fuller understanding of themselves.
Children and families help make MABC a vibrant community. Winnie oversees MABC’s children’s ministries from preschoolers to school aged children. Winnie is married to Mark and they have two teenage children.
Rob oversees the multicultural aspects of MABC as we transition to being a fully inclusive international church that reflects Mt Albert community. People who have made their home in New Zealand have a special place in our church. Rob has returned from a significant worldwide leadership position with Wycliffe Bible Translators in the Asia Pacific region, and now divides his time between MABC and directing Wycliffe New Zealand. He is married to Leanne and has three adult children: Josh, Simon and Mark.
Judy oversees our small group ministry (called Life Groups), and the team that helps to welcome people who are new to MABC. Judy has worked in pastoral ministry at MABC before and was previously a Strengthening Families Coordinator in South Auckland. She is passionate about holistic well-being, including emotionally healthy spirituality. Judy is married to Nick and they have three adult sons: Dan, Shaun and Bernard.
